    “Social dining” is becoming more and more popular among travellers. It’s also called “Couchsurfing for food”. Besides the opportunity to see new places and learn about new cultures, also gives you a chance to taste local cuisine, which definitely is part of the country’s culture. Cooking is like a meditation. This podcast is about Seema who loves to be engrossed with this passion of hers; cooking. Seema shares her story of her concept of social dining! cooking and inviting foreigners to her home and sharing the traditional recipes with them, giving them a taste of India.

    She says that with her platform of social dining she focuses on creating communities, which aims to connect people by exchanging experiences about their cultures and helping each other know better through their countries food! As per Seema – “I want to bring people from other cultures together around home-cooked food so that they can experience something that they have never experienced before’’ Why can’t conversations happen over food?     NITIN – Toh doston aaj humare saath mein hai Seema, toh main bhi kaafi curious tha ki kaafi log inke baare mein baat kar rahe hain, toh malum hain Seema ji kaun hain! Toh Seema ji hamari Annapurna hain Jaipur Creative Club ke andar. She makes sure that everybody is served with best of the best food because food is her passion. Toh aaiye baat karte hain Seema ji se, what is her passion that drives her to cook so good!

    SEEMA – So mera passion kya hai, aap ye jaana chahte hain, what drives me to cook food or to what i am doing today! Toh Nitin food ka passion logon se jude rehne ka ek zariya hai mere kiye. Bahot se ache dost mile, aur bahut badlaav aaye zindagi mein aur aaj usi kaam mein mujhe pehchaan mili, ek grehani ko, ek housewife ko jinki generally shaadi ke baad mostly apni identity nhn hoti. Toh ye jagah ki mujhe bahut talaash thi ki main apne liye kuch karoon, aur mujhe sukoon mile. Toh us tarah se cheezon ki shuruaat hui meri.

    NITIN – I am sure that you love cooking from your childhood. Actual mein us cheez ko routine me leke aana, toh kabse aapne ye start kiya hai?

    SEEMA – meri journey start hui, 6 saal pehle, professionally 6 saal pehle start hui, lekin usse pehle main pariwaar ke liye bana rahi thi. Aur tabhi bhi ye mere bachpan ka sapna nhn tha. Kyunki maine kabhi bhi ye socha nhn tha aur main cooking se door rehti thi. Aur bas cheezein hoti rahi, aur life mein jo bhi saamne aata raha usse kuch na kuch apna raasta nikaalne ki aadat hui, toh 6 saal pehle ek mauka mila ki aap ghar se baithke kaam kar sate hain, logon ko apne gahr bula saktein hain. Toh wo opportunity ko lena chaha maine, ki ye try karte hain aur why not! Waise bhi khaana mera family mein sabhiko pasand aata tha, toh us cheez se shuruaat hui. Aur jab shuruaat hui toh laga ki khaana kaise paronsa jaae, aur normal tareeke se hi kyun na kiya jaae, aur attractive kiya jaae, jaise jaise main khaane ko khoobsurti aur shape dene lagi toh usse mujhe appreciation mila. Aur appreciation life mein mujhe bahut motivate karta hai aage badhne ke liye.

    NITIN – toh aap ye jo food walk organise karti hain, aur kafi international visitors aapki food walk mein, food experience ke liye aate hain. Toh is baare mein thida bataein, ki ye kaise start hua aur ye jo log aatein hain, unhein kya sabse zyaada pasand aata hai? 

    SEEMA – Ye jo concept jab ,ere saamne aaya Nitin, ki aap apne home chef ki tarah kaam akreinge aur aapke yahan log aaeinge khaana khaane toh unhein aapko ghar jaisa khaana khilaana hai, kyunki hotls bahut hain, aur unhein ek alag experience milna chahiye. Toh tab ye nhn tha ki ye tourist honge, unke saath hi indians bhi ho saktein hain, toh wo ek acha concept humein laga ki apne local cousine ko aap nayi disha de saktein hain,. Zyaada se zyaada logon tak use pahunchaao. Jab meri pehli meal hui tih wo meri kareeb 6 US ladies ki thi, jo India sirf dieali dekhne aayi thi, ki gharon mein diwali kaisi banaai jaati hai. Toh us waqt jab wo aaye toh it was a very beautiful feeling in itself, kyunki wo Indian attire mein dressed up the aur wo unhonein diwali ki pooja aur uske baad jo fire crackers hote hain, in sab mein unhonein participate kiya. Aur unhonein jabkhaana khyaa, aur wo jab sunke aaye the ki rajasthan ka local food kya hai? Daal Baati Choorma. Lekin iske alawa bhi rajasthani khaane mein bhi bahut kuch hai. Aur unhonein jab aake ghar pe hum logon ke saath khaya toh unhein ye lesson samjh aaya ki Daal Bhaati choorma is not a normal thing that we eat everyday. So we get to learn a lot about our traditions, humare culture ke baare mein jaante hain, paarivarik jeewan ki kuch jhalkiyaan dekhtein hain, toh iska best part ue tha ki humein apni meals generally 2 ghante mein complete karni hoti hain, jo guest aatein hain. Lekin aaj tak mere yahan jo bhi meal day 1 se mujhe mili hain, wo 4-5 hours chalti hain. Toh is tarah se logon ka humse judaav ho jaata hai, log humari sanskriti ke baare mein janna chahte hain, samjhna chahte hain, discussions hoti hain. Jis country se wo aarahein hain, mujhe kuch uske baare mein jaane ko milta hai, seekhne ka bahot acha zariya hai ghar baithe.

    NITIN – Ek cheez main aapse poochna chahunga dekhiye, ki hota ye hai ki hum log boltein hain ki, ‘Atithi devo bhavah’, humare ghar mein guests aatein hain, hum unko welcome karte hain. Lekin aap ki family aapko kitna supportive hai is idea ko leke ki strangers appke ghar pe lunch ya dinner ke liye aarahein hain, kaise wo iskeliye, apna support aapko extend kar rahein hain.

    SEEMA – jab mere paas ye opportunity first time aayi, mere ghar mein it was a big ‘no’ ki aap kisi anjaan ko kaise ghar mein aane de saktein hain, appko kaise pata ki saamna waala kaisa hai. It’s not a safe and a secure thing. Still i wanted to go for it kyunki mujhe ek baar try karne do ki ye experience kaisa rehta hai. Lekin aap maaneinge nahi ki mujhe koi galat insaan aaj tak nhn mila. Ye duniyaa itni buri nhn hai, jitna hum assume kar saktein hain. Iskeliye mere baccho ko bhi ek learning mila, hum unko sikhatein hain ki strangers ko trust mat karo jab tak aap unko jaante nhn hain. Usually hum bacchon ko yahi kehtein hain, but the fact is ki har kisi ke paas ek positive cheez hai, aur wo doosre insaan ko jaanana chahta hai aur humne use bahot restrict kar diya hai khudko, ki hum khul kar nhn dekhna chahte hain insaan ko, hum apne mind mein ek preoccupied thought leke chalte hain ki ye aadmi kaisa hoga aur kaisa nhn. Jab mera ghar open tha logon ke liye, aur wo aae, aur main unse mili, thode dare wo bhi the aur main bhi thi, lekin jab baaton ka silsila shuru hua toh unka bhi ek comfort level bana. India jaake aisa home dining experience mila !

    NITIN – Bilkul Seema mujhe bhi yahi lagta hai ki pehla tareeka ye hai ki aapko baat karna shuru karna padega aur tabhi baat banegi. Iske saath main apna ek wyatigat experience share karna chahunga. Bachpan se mujhe bhi cooking ka bhaot shauk tha, toh log aapse poochte hain ki bade hoke kya banna chahoge? Toh main bolta tha ki mujhe Sanjeev Kapoor banna hai. But mujhe kaafi discourage kiya jaata tha family mein ki ye toh ladkiyon ka kaam hai. Agar aage tumhein cooking ko as a profession lena hoga toh tumhein, home science leni padegi aur ladkiyon ke college mein jaake padhna padega, aur main tab bhi jaake kehta tha ki main sab kuch akrlunga, mujhe toh cooking bahut pasand hai aur main cooking karunga. But khair kuch is tareeke se hua ki jo sapne hain, wo sapne reh jaate hain, aapki zindagi aapse kuch aur demand karti hai, aur aap apne aapse kuch aur chahte hain. Kya kehna chaheingi aap un logo se jo young hain, young minds hain, aur wo log jo food ko  as a profession lena chahtehain. Aaj ka mahual jo hai wo kaafi positive hai, lekin phir bhi cooking ko as a profession lena aajkal aur kaafi log use encourage kartein hain. Toh kya kaheingi un logo ke liye jo food ko as a profession lena chahte hain?

    SEEMA – Nitin main ek hi baat kahungi aapko ki follow your heart or your dream. Aap jo karna chahte hain wo kariye. Kyunki agar main is umar mein, 30+ ki age mein task kiya tha aur ek sapna dekha tha, wo jeene ki khwahish thi aur main independent hoke kar rahi hoon, aur mere kaam ne mujhe bahut achi pehchaan di hai. Toh agar aap koi bhi hain, aap cooking karna chahte hain, aapke liye sky’s the limit. Aap kuch bhi kar sakte hain, aur kyun nhn? ek ladka kyun cook nhn kar sakta aur ek ladki hi kyun cook kar sakti hai? Aisa kuch nhn hai. Aap wahi kijiye jo aap apne dil se karna chahte hain aur wo aapki pehchaan banaegi zindagi mein.

    NITIN – Bilkul sahi baat hai Seema sab bade hotels ke andar jo chefs hain wo male hotein hain, aur ghar pe women se expect kiya jaata hai ki wo even chef jab ghar ,ein aaega toh uski wife uske liye khaana banaegi. Khair jaise aapne kaha ki follow your heart. Auer yahan baat bhi hum junoon ki kar rahein hain, ki actually apko manna padega ki aap un lines ko ya barriers ko cross kar paeinge!
