5 BEST NATURAL COUGH REMEDIES with Grandmother’s Nuskhe

Just remember those quick solutions your grandmother has for any health-related problem. What would be better than that? The ‘nuskha’ inside your kitchen.

Just a pinch of this and pinch of that and you’ll be fine in no time. Here is a natural home remedy for coughing.

    1) Ginger honey tea:

Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties. Brew up a soothing ginger tea by adding 20–40 grams (g) of fresh ginger slices to a cup of hot water. Allow to steep for a few minutes before drinking. Add honey to further soothe a cough.

    2) Salt-water gargle :

This simple remedy is one of the most effective for treating a sore throat and wet cough. Saltwater reduces phlegm and mucus in the back of the throat which can lessen the need to cough.
Stir half a teaspoon of salt into a cup of warm water until it dissolves. Gargle with salt water several times each day until the cough improves.

    3) Peppermint:

The leaves are well known for their healing properties. It soothes the throat and acts as a decongestant, helping to break down mucus. Peppermint has antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties.
Because of this, peppermint tea may fight clogged sinuses due to infections, the common cold, and allergies. You can benefit by drinking peppermint tea or by inhaling peppermint vapors. To make tea, add 3 or 4 drops of peppermint oil or peppermint leaves for every one cup of hot water.

    4) Fluid intake:

Coughing is drying, which can only increase the irritation you are feeling. Drinking fluids of all kinds, especially water, juice, and caffeine-free teas, is a good home remedy for a cough. It helps reduce inflammation.

    5) Inhale steam:

It’s 100% natural. Boil water and pour into a bowl, face the bowl (stay at least 1 foot away), place a towel over the back of your head to form a tent, and inhale.  It moisturizes dry, irritated nasal and throat passages making them more comfortable and it alleviates soreness and inflammation of the throat.
